Modulation is one way to sound synthesis, and is to vary some aspect of a signal (called carrier) with respect to a second (called modules), eventually generating a modulated wave "." In the If Frequency Modulation (FM), is modulated on the carrier wave frequency.
In a transmission amplitude modulation (AM) as the carrier says the word is extended to the sides. (See chart).
Features: FM broadcasts are free of interference or noise (atmospheric, electric motors, ignition systems etc.) And therefore is the preferred system used by stations that broadcast quality programs, especially music but, at ground level is very limited coverage. By contrast, an AM broadcast can cover the entire planet, according the frequency used, but is exposed to all kinds of interference and how these have the same characteristics as the emissions of A M.
